What this automation does, step by step
The automation tracks each attorney's continuing legal education credits internally throughout the reporting period, logging completed courses as attorneys report them through a simple Jotform submission and automatically calculating remaining credit requirements against each attorney's specific bar renewal deadline.
As the deadline approaches, attorneys who are short on required credits automatically receive an email alert 90 and 30 days out listing exactly how many credits they still need and in which categories, such as ethics-specific hours many states require separately.
The bar compliance coordinator gets a firm-wide dashboard in Google Sheets showing every attorney's credit status at a glance instead of following up individually.
Because shortfalls surface months ahead of the deadline instead of the week before, attorneys reliably complete their requirements in time and the firm avoids the compliance risk of a lapsed bar license.
