Technician Onboarding & Certification Expiration Tracker

A done-for-you home services automation built for the Field Technician Manager, connecting Jotform, Slack, and Airtable so the work below happens on its own.

    How it works

What this automation does, step by step

    1. When a new technician is hired, this automation generates a 30-day onboarding checklist (safety training, equipment certifications, ride-along schedule, and tool issuance) with tasks assigned to both the manager and the new hire.

    2. As each item is completed, it is logged with a timestamp.

    3. Certifications that expire (EPA 608, NATE, manufacturer product certifications) are tracked with renewal reminders sent to both the technician and manager 60 and 14 days before expiration.

    4. No technician goes into the field uncertified because a renewal date slipped past someone's awareness.

    Tools it connects

Using different software? We build around what you already have, so you never have to switch tools to automate.

    Before and after

The manual way vs. the automated way

    Without automation

Left unautomated, a field technician manager spends hours on the parts of this job that don't require judgment: copying data, sending reminders, and tracking status by hand. None of it is difficult, it's just slow, repetitive, and easy to fall behind on.

    With this automation

    • Interview scheduling without email ping-pong
    • New hire paperwork and account setup before day one
    • Certification and license expiration alerts
    • Timesheet and time-off workflows that route themselves
