What this automation does, step by step
When a team member submits a purchase request through an Airtable intake form, the system automatically checks the dollar amount against a tiered approval matrix: requests under a set threshold route straight to the department head for a one-click Slack approval, while larger amounts route through both the department head and the controller in sequence, with each approver's decision logged automatically.
Once fully approved, a purchase order is generated and pushed into NetSuite and the vendor is notified by email without anyone re-typing the request.
Requests that stall with an approver for more than two business days trigger an automatic escalation reminder.
