Nightly Backup Verification Alert System
A done-for-you everyday business automation built for the Network Administrator, connecting Slack so the work below happens on its own.
What this automation does, step by step
Instead of trusting that last night's backup job actually completed, the workflow checks the backup platform's job log every morning at seven and cross-references file counts and completion timestamps for every protected server and workstation.
If a backup finished with warnings, failed outright, or simply never ran, an alert is posted immediately to a dedicated Slack channel and a ticket opens automatically in Freshservice with the affected system and error code attached, so the network administrator is looking at the problem before the workday starts rather than discovering it during a restore emergency weeks later.
A weekly summary showing total protected data, success rate, and any repeat offenders gets emailed to IT leadership every Monday morning.
Silent backup failures that used to go unnoticed for weeks get caught and fixed the same day.

Using different software? We build around what you already have, so you never have to switch tools to automate.
The manual way vs. the automated way
Without automation
Left unautomated, a network administrator spends hours on the parts of this job that don't require judgment: copying data, sending reminders, and tracking status by hand. It rarely feels urgent in the moment, but it adds up fast.
With this automation
- Low-stock and reorder alerts before you run out
- Vendor and subcontractor confirmations that chase themselves
- Preventive maintenance scheduled by usage or date
- Work orders and project milestones that update stakeholders
