What this automation does, step by step
Once a surgery is scheduled in the system, this automation automatically identifies the correct pre-operative instruction set for that procedure type and delivers it to the patient by text and email, timed precisely to the required schedule: a general overview immediately after booking, a fasting-window reminder the evening before, and a medication-hold reminder for any drugs that need to be paused ahead of the procedure.
Patients confirm receipt of each instruction with a one-tap reply, and anyone who hasn't confirmed the fasting instructions by the night before automatically triggers a call task for the surgical scheduler.
This removes the risk of a case being delayed or canceled the morning of surgery because a patient simply forgot or never saw the instructions, which is a costly outcome for both the patient and the surgical schedule.
