What this automation does, step by step
Every signed contract stored in DocuSign carries its term length and expiration date, and 120 days before that date arrives, Zapier automatically creates a renewal task on the account in Salesforce, assigns it to both the contracts administrator and the account's sales owner, and posts a heads-up in Slack so nobody discovers an expired contract by accident during a billing dispute.
Auto-renewing contracts get a separate reminder 60 days out in case the customer wants to renegotiate terms before the renewal locks in silently.
A master contract calendar synced to Google Sheets gives finance and legal visibility into everything expiring in a given quarter without anyone requesting a manual pull.
